While we are typically performing strictly Christian songs, we still do our best to give them Christian concepts or ideas to think about along with the song. This potentially allows them to get more out of the performance. Maybe there is something that someone needs to hear, but they may not pick it up from the song. The song intro maybe able to get their attention enough that they do hear what needs to be heard.
Think about the things you say. Are they things that God would be happy that you are saying? Will others see God through your words? If you answered no to either of those questions, you may want to think about what you are saying.
