Children's Ministry Day

Each year, we help out with an event know as Children's Ministry Day through IBSA.  This is a day when different churches bring groups of children to do different ministry projects around Illinois. Some groups help clean up parks, some help make blankets, and we take a group to do puppets with us at different nursing homes.

We spend a short amount of time in the morning doing a brief training with the kids and then we head out to the nursing homes where they get to perform. The residents really seem to like this because they get to see kids going out and sharing something that they believe in and are passionate about. Even if they are not experienced at puppetry, the residents still enjoy watching and really get into it. Actually, we have returned to a couple of the nursing homes as Adventureland following Children's Ministry Day and we have had residents ask where all of the kids were at.
